Dr. Burns grew up in Bend, Oregon. She got her Bachelors of Science in Animal Sciences from Oregon State University then continued on to get her doctorate of veterinary medicine. She has been working at a small animal clinic in Chehalis, Washington since then. She recently moved back to the Portland area because most of her family lives in the area.
Dr. Burns became a veterinarian because she has always been fascinated with animals and how the body works. Her passion is working with small animals and pocket pets. She also enjoys working with small ruminants.
Dr. Burns has a daughter who aspires to help endangered animals of the world. She also has a crazy Jack Russell cross named Sara. Sara was hand raised by an assistant at her previous clinic. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and growing roses.
